Bank Statement Worksheets: Arch, Newfi and Angel Oak
Oct 16, 2026 · Varaxon Technologies LLC d/b/a StatementReady
This is educational, not underwriting guidance. Always follow your program's current guidelines.
Every non-QM lender wants bank-statement income presented its own way. Here's what three lenders that brokers use often publish, based on their public materials. We're not affiliated with any of these lenders. Check with your Account Executive for current requirements.
Arch Mortgage Funding (AMF)
What's published:
- Arch's Calculators page offers a downloadable Bank Statement Income Calculator (XLSX). It sits alongside DSCR, 1099, asset-depletion and tax-return calculators. [1]
- The workbook has Personal Statements and Business Statements tabs plus a Calculation Instructions tab. Each account section has one row per month with these columns [2]:
- Statement Date
- Total Deposits
- # of NSF Items
- Excluded Deposits
Key rules in the instructions [2]:
- Personal statements: eligible deposits ÷ 12 or 24 months.
- Business statements: (eligible deposits × ownership %) × 50% ÷ 12 or 24 months under the standard option. A custom expense factor (minimum 10%) is allowed with a qualifying CPA or licensed tax preparer statement.
- Trend check: compare 12 months with the most recent 6, or 24 months with the most recent 12, and use the lower.
- Declines over 20% need extra review and a borrower LOE.
- Ownership: the program quick reference lists a minimum of 25% self-employed business ownership. [3]
How to prepare: have monthly total deposits, excluded deposits (with reasons) and NSF counts ready for each account and month. That's exactly what the worksheet asks for.
Newfi Wholesale
What's published:
- Newfi's broker-facing tool is Income IQ, a bank-statement analysis tool built into Newfi's BLU broker portal. [4]
- Per Newfi, it can [4]:
- accept a single file with all 12 or 24 months and split it into months
- alert you to missing statements
- calculate based on the percentage of the business owned
- analyze personal or business statements
- Newfi's bank-statement program page says it "has several tools to calculate bank statement income" and directs brokers to their Account Executive. [5]
How to prepare: Income IQ runs inside Newfi's portal, so it's tied to files you're submitting to Newfi. Newfi's resources page lists a bank-statement submission checklist and a fillable business narrative. [6] Gather complete, consecutive statements, because missing months come back as a "missing documents" result. [4]
Angel Oak Mortgage Solutions
What's published:
- Expense factor: Angel Oak's program page says loans are qualified with a default 50% expense factor. A lower factor requires a third-party CPA, tax preparer or bookkeeper statement, and some higher-expense industries are underwritten at 70%. [7]
- Broker submission checklist: for bank-statement loans it lists [8]:
- a business ownership-percentage letter from a third-party CPA or tax preparer
- a business expense-ratio letter (refer to the AE notes on the prequal if it's required)
- Angel Oak's Bank Statement Questionnaire
- The questionnaire is a downloadable form that collects general company and operating details. [9]
Is there a public worksheet? We didn't find a downloadable Angel Oak income worksheet on its public site. Ask your AE how they want income presented.
A side-by-side summary

Where StatementReady fits
StatementReady reads digital and scanned PDFs, and:
- totals eligible deposits per account and month
- counts NSF and overdraft occurrences
- flags missing months
It exports a generic 12/24-month worksheet. Its monthly totals line up with the inputs lenders like Arch ask for, so you can carry them into the lender's own form. Lender-specific layouts are coming soon. StatementReady isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any lender named here.
Every statement is reconciled to its printed opening and closing balances. Anything that doesn't tie out, or can't be checked, is flagged for your review.
StatementReady assists your review. It doesn't make underwriting or credit decisions, and it doesn't replace your judgment or your lender's guidelines.
NFCU checked on real files; other US banks and credit unions are accepted, checked to the cent, and marked Unverified if a statement doesn't reconcile or can't be checked.
